Participants of Agro Ukraine Summit discussing issues of the agro-industrial complex

The large-scale "Agro Ukraine Summit" with several conferences took place in Kyiv on February 2, 2024, where representatives of Ukraine's agricultural sector gathered. The main goal of the event was to analyze the current state of the country's agro-industrial complex and find ways for its revival and rapid growth.

At the summit, participants discussed the most important issues related to the development of the agricultural sector: they exchanged experiences, ideas, and best practices aimed at improving the situation in Ukraine's agro-industrial complex. Representatives from various agricultural sectors shared their achievements and proposals for improving production processes, implementing cutting-edge technologies, enhancing the quality of products, and competitiveness in the international market.

The VITAGRO group of companies acted as the Official Partner of the conference "AgroPROcessing 2024: New Horizons of Processing in the APC" and also shared its developments and plans for the future.

Sergiy Savchuk, Director of Development and Investments at the VITAGRO group of companies, announced how our company is trying to respond to geopolitical challenges and manage risks in today's challenging situation:

  • We have launched a plant that will produce PPP, microfertilizers, and liquid complex fertilizers and will allow us to release products to the market that fully meet its requirements and are the best of their kind.
  • In December 2023, we completed the construction of a biogas plant with a capacity of 3 million cubic meters per year of biogas, which uses waste from pig and cattle farming, as well as silage. Despite the impossibility of exporting biogas, we have gained invaluable experience and are actively working on ideas that will make the project profitable.
  • One of the main challenges today is the export of grain and oilseeds. With the onset of the blockade, we understood the importance of having our own processing, and today we have 2 projects at the completion stage of reconstruction and one at the stage of technical and economic justification.
  • A new direction that we are actively engaged in is the project of a soybean processing plant into soy protein concentrate (SPC). In order to avoid logistics risks, we see good potential in plant proteins, and since we already have a feed mill in the structure of the VITAGRO Group of Companies, we decided to focus on the deep processing of raw materials.

As we can see, risk management can have different approaches. You can wait for the right moment or react to market changes, but there is another approach, as in the case of the VITAGRO Group - to create new directions for business development, industries, and the export potential of our country.

We are not afraid of risks, we invest in new assets, create jobs, and contribute to the development of the Ukrainian economy!
