In 2023, zero consumption and energy security will become some of the most important topics, with biomethane and liquid biofuels taking center stage in the EU economy. Such conclusions can be drawn from the panel discussions at the International Biogas Congress & Expo.
Sergey Savchuk, Director of Development and Investments of VITAGRO Group of Companies, participated in the forum in Brussels. "EU countries are moving towards decarbonization and replacing fossil fuels. It was very pleasant to feel the lively interest in the import of Ukrainian products: biomethane and bioethanol, from representatives of different countries. I am convinced that Ukraine will take a worthy place in promoting an increase in the supply of these products on the EU market," Sergey Savchuk shared his impressions after the forum.
Given the European Parliament's goal of increasing renewable energy consumption by 45% and increasing biomethane production to 35 billion cubic meters by 2030, Ukraine's biomethane sector has an excellent opportunity to expand its influence and demonstrate advantages. VITAGRO Group of Companies sees the development and use of biomethane as a necessary step to ensure the sustainability and efficiency of Ukraine's energy sector development. We will actively implement biomethane into our energy strategies, opening up new opportunities for ourselves, while contributing to the global issue of reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
Biomethane has great potential to replace fossil fuels, reduce carbon emissions, and provide a cleaner and more sustainable source of energy. Let's care for the environment and energy independence together!
