Vitagro Group at Grain Ukraine 2023

05.06.2023

On May 30 and 31, 2023, the annual international industry platform Grain Ukraine 2023 took place, aimed at dialoguing with the largest representatives of the agricultural market, leaders of Ukrainian agri-food companies, commercial and investment banks, as well as technological trendsetters in the agri-sphere. Here, the latest trends in the agrarian market were discussed, as well as the ways to develop sustainable business models and the implementation of technological agro-innovations.

Representatives of the Vitagro Group of Companies also visited the event in order to stay in tune with the changes and happenings during this challenging time for Ukraine.

Our colleague Roman Kantarovsky, Head of External Investment Projects Development at Vitagro Group of Companies, participated in the panel discussion "Ways of persifying agribusiness" together with representatives of such Agro titans as MHP, Continental Farmers Group, and Agricom Group. They discussed the opportunities for persification and scaling of business in the conditions of war, where and how farmers can get growth drivers, and the plans of large Ukrainian holdings for investments and the implementation of new projects during the war period.

"We at Vitagro have something to be proud of, because we have not just stopped but are investing in new directions, understanding the market development trends. Before the war, we started to build a biogas plant, redirected to the production of biomethane, and we plan to launch it in the 3rd quarter of 2023. Moreover, during the war, we started an ambitious project to build a bioethanol plant based on a spirit factory. This plant is innovative. The distiller's grains left after fermentation, which contain 30% protein, we do not throw in the fields. We will be drying it and from this raw material, we will produce 28 thousand tons of DDGS (high-protein feed additive). The launch of the plant is planned for the 4th quarter of 2023", - Roman said from the stage of Grain Ukraine 2023.

"Unfortunately, the war has become the driver of change. We understand that Ukraine, after victory, and the world as a whole, will not be the same as before the full-scale invasion of Russia. And already today we are implementing a strategy that will meet new challenges and trends, either in energy efficiency or in creating a holistic ecosystem in agribusiness."
