The opening of biomethane exports will launch a new stage in the development of the agro-industrial complex and energy sector

An all-Ukrainian round table with the UKAB association, government representatives, and businesses took place on January 25, 2024. Serhiy Savchuk, Director of Development and Investments at VITAGRO, also actively participated in discussions on possible solutions to current challenges in the development of biomethane production and exports.

"The war forced us to delve deeper into processing issues and react more promptly to challenges. In 2021, we started developing a biomethane plant project and contracting equipment. In May 2022, we made the strategic decision to continue the project implementation despite the hostilities in Ukraine, and in 2023, we are actively engaged in construction and equipment installation. In January 2024, we are ready to export biomethane, but there is currently no opportunity. The main problem lies in the lack of legislative framework, while the plants can already operate successfully and contribute to the Ukrainian economy," noted Serhiy Savchuk.

Thanks to this round table and the active involvement of government representatives, the UKAB association, and businesses, Serhiy Savchuk is confident that the Ukrainian economy will soon be able to succeed in this sector. A legislative framework will be established, allowing biomethane plants to operate successfully and generate profits for the country. He expresses hope that Ukraine will be able to export biomethane in the first half of 2024.

Victory is inevitable and already too close!
