VITAGRO Group plans to export biomethane

VITAGRO Group is at the stage of launching a biomethane plant: the path we have traveled to implement the biomethane plant project has reached its logical conclusion. Significant funds have been invested in our biomethane plant, and as of today, we are ready to launch it in July-August 2024 and begin exporting biomethane by autumn.

The long-awaited law No. 3613-IX on the customs clearance of biomethane has finally been adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, but several additional regulations are needed to regulate the technical aspects of biomethane customs clearance. This process will take a few more months, and during this time, we plan to start production and accumulate biomethane for future export.

"Another key point is the European Union, which has begun to organize the biomethane market. Changes have taken place, and a Directive has been adopted that provides for the creation of an EU database – the Union Database (UDB). This platform has been developed by the European Commission to track liquid and gaseous renewable fuels. Currently, this period is ongoing in Europe, and market access is limited, but our team from the Development Department is actively working in this direction," explained VITAGRO Group's Chief Operating Officer Serhiy Nechyporuk.

We did not back down from any challenges and confidently moved towards our goal. Today, Ukraine is on the path to ecological development and economic growth, and we are pleased to participate in this, as according to our project, we will produce 3 million cubic meters of biomethane per year, pay millions of hryvnias in taxes, and foreign exchange earnings will flow into Ukraine during this difficult time for us.

We are creating new jobs, developing related industries connected to biomethane production, and working for the prosperity of Ukraine.
